Tips for successful searching:
The easiest way to search is simply to type a few words that describe what you're looking for into the search box. Here are some general tips to help you with your search:
- The more specific you are, the more precise your search will be. Use more descriptive, specific words as opposed to general ones. Typing in tropical rainforest is better than just forest, assuming that is what you are interested in.
- If you're SURE that you want only sites with the words you typed in the same order that you typed them, then surround the phrase with quote marks, as in "National Forests".
- Don't worry about capitalization. Search Engines treat upper- and lower-case letters the same.
- Don't use punctuation without checking instructions for the particular Search Engine that you decide to use. Question marks and other characters may represent special codes for the Search Engine.
- Don't worry about using AND between your search terms - Search Engines generally assume an AND between words. For more information about search operators, check out the help page on the particular search engine that you use.
